Light Cap chiropractic-type adjustment

I got called out to BioScan a group of horses at a local boarding facility. One of the horses was an elderly warmblood mare who had obviously had a hard life. After many years as a jumper and producing multiple babies her spine was torqued and her rear pasterns were almost touching the ground. Her owner simply wanted to offer her a “spa day” along with the other horses.

In checking her over we noticed that her neck was seriously out of alignment. The large wings of C2 were tilted so seriously that one side was jammed up against the jaw bone. She had an extremely hard time turning her head to the right.

It is our standard practice to always place a light cap onto the horse we are scanning as soon as we can the head and poll area. I find that horses usually love it, and will calmly accept this new floppy accessory. We tell them how lovely they look and, sometime, I swear they preen and are extra proud of themselves. This mare wasn’t sure about us putting it on but soon relaxed.

I finished scanning her and began to treat with the diodes when she suddenly stretched her neck and we heard a loud “POP”. I double checked C2 and it was in alignment! Just with 20+ minutes of the light cap. The owner reported that following her BioScan Spa Day she began moving more freely and could turn her neck with ease!
